SpecialEducation Services
Every child deserves to learn in a setting where they are supported, challenged, and valued.
P.S. 38 is committed to providing students with disabilities a free, appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment. We offer a continuum of services so that each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) can be carried out with care, and we partner closely with families every step of the way.
Continuum of Services
Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT)
A general and special education teacher share one classroom, supporting all learners together.
Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS)
Targeted instruction provided in a small group or one-on-one, in or out of the classroom.
Related Services
Speech-language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and counseling, as outlined in a student’s IEP.
Specialized Classes
Smaller, structured settings for students who need more individualized instruction and support.
Requesting an Evaluation
Any parent who is concerned about their child's progress can request a special education evaluation in writing. The school's team will guide you through each step, from referral to the IEP meeting.
